Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Thoroughly enjoyed the wild-caught salmon at Local Yocal. The salmon was cooked perfectlyβ€”tender, flaky, and incredibly fresh. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural flavor of the fish without overpowering it. The savory orzo paired beautifully with the salmon, adding great texture and flavor to every bite. A well-balanced, delicious dish that was both satisfying and light. Easily one of the highlights of the meal, and I would definitely order it again.

We were in town for a wedding and meeting up with college roommates and this looked like a good option. Turns out it was a great option. We did Sunday brunch. We were really surprised by the wide variety of food on the brunch menu. Everything was so full of flavor. This would be a place we would come back to when we are in the area.

Nestled in historic downtown McKinney, this restaurant has great driveup appeal. The menu is quite different with a variety of meat options. You can order seafood, steaks, ribs, burgers, and salads. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, which came with a great sauce. While she didn't care for the sauce, I thought it was tasty. However, I wasn't a fan of the corn grits. I had the 6oz Wagyu sirloin. It was a beautiful cut, but it lacked seasoning. The star of the show was definitely the smoked onion dip and homemade chips

We have dined ay Local Yocal for brunch, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. From the food to the atmosphere, it has always been a great experience. It has become our go to choice for birthdays and anniversaries and we went last night for our 19th. The staff always make it feel so welcoming. The Mac N Cheese is a must. The Wagyu steak (medium rare) with the horseradish sauce is divine. And Mashed Potatoes are always delicious. And I was so excited to see they have added a mocktail menu!!! This felt like such a treat after quitting alcohol. Thank you, Local Yocal!

Stumbled into Local Yocal this weekend and happened to end up at the bar being serviced by Jessica! She was a delightful person creating such a warm and welcoming experience for my husband and I! He got the shrimp and grits and i ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Both dishes were packed with flavor. The bar area was honestly the best spot to be in the restaurant too. We will be back for dinner as Jessica recommended to try all the yummy dishes!
